LSYO 2019 - 2020 AUDITIONS
Auditions for the 2019 - 2020 season have been completed. At this time, violin sections are full in both the Symphony Orchestra (advanced) and Concert Orchestra (intermediate).
There are still a few openings for: viola, cello, string bass, woodwinds, brass and percussion.
There are also a few openings in Prelude Strings. Participants in Prelude Strings must have one year of experience with a private teacher (Suzuki Book 2 & 3 Equivalent.)

Excerpts for All Musicians
Prepare two excerpts of your own choosing from solo repertoire, etudes or orchestral excerpts, not to exceed a total of FIVE minutes of playing that demonstrate technical facility, tone quality, musical expression.

In support of school music programs, members of LSYO are required to participate in at least one large ensemble at their school. Reasonable exemptions will be considered for musician whose academic schedules present unavoidable conflicts with school ensemble participation (i.e. AOS, AET or MATA) The signature of a school academic advisor will be required in any such case. Home-schooled students and students whose schools do not have a relevant ensemble for their instrument, are also exempted.
Annual tuition includes all rehearsals as well as master classes/intensive training from professional musicians. Annual tuition is due by the first rehearsal the student attends. A $50 sibling discount is offered for additional students in the LSYO program.
