Karen Shoupe’s love of music goes back to her birth in Ohio and the influence of her mother, a concert pianist who attended Julliard School of Music. Karen began playing piano at a very early age and graduated from the University of Michigan with a major in Musicology and a minor in Piano Performance. After graduating from The Ohio State University College of Law, she worked as an attorney for the Screen Actors Guild in New York City. Karen joined the Loudoun Symphony Board of Directors in 2024. She has been married for over forty years and has two grown children, one grown stepchild, and two wonderful grandchildren. Her hobbies include yoga, pickleball, various crafts, reading, and, of course, playing the piano.
