Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra (LSYO) – General Manager


The Loudoun Symphony is seeking a part-time general manager for the Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra program.  


The general manager works with the three conductors and director, educational programming and outreach to effectively execute the LSYO program rehearsal schedule, concerts and one-week summer orchestral institute.  This includes communicating regularly with the parents and musicians regarding auditions, rehearsals, and concerts.  The general manager also serves as liaison with the Loudoun Symphony Association and communicates regularly on a range of matters including resource needs and special event promotions.


Attendance is required at rehearsals held from September to mid-May on Mondays (6:15-8:30 PM) and Tuesdays (7:00-9:15 PM) in Ashburn, VA as well as three concerts.  Support is also needed during 2-3 masterclasses and for the Summer Orchestral Institute which is scheduled in July at a time that works for the LSYO Team. 


Number of hours of week per week


6-8 hours during regular rehearsal week; 12 hours per week during concert week and 16 hours during audition week.


$400 per month with additional compensation provided for support of the Summer Orchestral Institute.
