VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Loudoun Symphony Association welcomes volunteers to assist in many ways. We couldn’t do it without you!

We are always looking for enthusiastic members to join our committees, described below:

Development Committee
The primary responsibility of the Development Committee is to raise resources (private, public, and non-profit) for the LSA. Efforts are divided into the following subcommittees:

Events
Subcommittee members plan, organize, and run events (e.g., the large donor events) which raise funds for the LSA. Members of this subcommittee energize involvement across the LSA to include the musicians, board members, parents, and supporters of the symphony.

Advertising and Sponsorship
Subcommittee members lead the LSA’s effort to solicit revenue from businesses (e.g., sponsoring or attending large donor events, or sponsorships) and private donors. This subcommittee creates a marketing plan for outreach and utilizes members across the LSA to execute this plan.

Public and Non-Profit Funding
These subcommittee members solicit and market for sources of public (local, state, and federal) and non-profit funding. The subcommittee researches the opportunities and creates the plan for responding appropriately (e.g., grant application).

Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee creates and executes a plan of outreach to schools, educational organizations, and other community organizations who are potential supporters (e.g., senior centers) of the LSA. This committee also manages the volunteers that are needed to support the symphony.

Performing Arts Center Committee
The Performing Arts Center Committee’s primary role is to liaise with the community, planning committee, corporate leaders, educational institutions, etc., to advocate for the construction of a Performing Arts Center in Loudoun County.

In addition to our committees, we are looking for volunteers to support LSO concerts:

Ushers

  • Greet attendees, scan tickets, and assist with seating.

  • Ushers arrive 30 minutes in advance of each LSO concert and are provided a complimentary ticket to attend performance.

Box Office

  • Help sell tickets or hand out tickets held for pick up.

  • Volunteers arrive 45 minutes in advance of each LSO concert and are provided a complimentary ticket to attend performance.
