MASTERCLASS SERIES

Please review our health and safety precautions for COVID-19.

Several times a year, LSYO invites master teachers from around the region to come work with our musicians in a formal masterclass setting. LSYO musicians audition for the opportunity to perform for the master teacher with a formal audience. After each performance, the master teacher works with each student on their technique and artistry. This is an unique opportunity for student musicians and instructors to learn from world-renowned master teachers as they work with the students on stage.

The LSYO Masterclass Series is open to all student musicians, even if they are not a member of LSYO. All students will audition with one solo piece, with the intention of performing that piece if selected. Payment is not required if you wish to attend the masterclass as an audience member.

The LSYO Masterclass Series has included bassoonist David Young, NSO violist Mahoko Eguchi, NSO Assistant Concertmaster Ricardo Cyncynates, NSO cellist, Rachel Young, and NSO horn player Robert Rearden.
